Make with your hands
Children learn better when ideas become physical. They build, test, adjust, and improve real projects.
A makerspace is a creative learning environment where kids use tools, materials, technology, and teamwork to turn ideas into real things. At Airdrie Maker Lab, STEM stops being only theory and becomes something children can touch, test, improve, and proudly show at home.
We teach through making, 3D printing, simple machines, electronics, coding, robotics, art, design thinking, and guided experiments. The goal is confidence, curiosity, discipline, and practical problem-solving habits.
A local maker school for Airdrie families who want practical, joyful STEAM learning.
Children learn better when ideas become physical. They build, test, adjust, and improve real projects.
Kids learn to ask what problem they are solving, what failed, and how to make the next version better.
Every project helps children explain their choices, show their work, and feel proud of visible progress.
We are not trying to force every child into engineering. We are helping children become confident thinkers who can imagine a solution, build a first version, and make it better.
Airdrie Maker Lab was co-founded by Uche Ajuonuma and Chino Charles with a shared belief that children should grow up building, testing ideas, and turning curiosity into real skills.
Co-founder
Uche is a mechanical engineer, designer, and maker with a strong belief that children should be exposed early to practical design, building, technology, and problem-solving. His background in product design, fabrication, CAD, and hands-on technology shapes the way Airdrie Maker Lab teaches children to think, build, test, and improve.
Uche is also actively involved in maker-centric education through CoMakers Africa, supporting practical skills development, sustainable education, and youth empowerment.
Co-founder
Chino is a mechanical engineer with extensive experience in project management, people management, and organizational leadership. He is also a pastor and community development leader who brings a deeply people-focused perspective to the lab.
Together, the founders combine engineering, making, leadership, education, faith-driven service, and community development to create a trusted learning space where children become confident makers and problem solvers.
Our long-term vision is a place where families see real progress, children build useful skills, and the community supports the next generation of designers, builders, and innovators.
